gMail new format issue

On my desktop pc, I think that I clicked on a Log In or Log Off button that popped up at the start and suddenly my desktop pc is displaying my online gMail in this new format page layout that doesn’t have a Sign Out button like it did and like it still does on my tablet pc. Both are WinXP with IE8.
So now the Sign Out is down in a dropdown box below my name. I want to get back to the former style with a Sign Out link always visible next to my name up there.
Someone at TR helped me delete some cookies a few weeks ago to help me get back to the old format gMail site. Can someone help me do this again?
It involved deleting the Google cookies last time, but I’ve tried that and I’m getting no where. I NEED SOME HELP, PLEASE!
