Graphic resolution

I have a COMPAQ 1240 Laptop. I inserted a 256 Thumb drive and my resolution went 16 bit 640×480 and it looks terrible. I have been told my graphic driver is bad. Where and how do I aquire this driver? And quite possibly you know another fix. Thank you for being there for us.
