Groupwise email through Access 97

I have read several articles on sending Outlook/Exchange email from an Access 97 database. But I don’t find any help for connecting/sending Groupwise email from Access 97. Is there much of a difference? We use Groupwise 5.5 for the client and I know that it uses WMS. Has anyone done this before?
