Groupwise end user

A end user has deleted some messages and then removed them from the trash bin, this was about a month ago. He has now decided that he needs these documents. In which folder(s) are user messages and other information kept. The only solution i can think of is to backup his current data, then restore from a month or so ago that data, email it to my address copy his current email back to its orignial location the foward his lost email back to him. If anyone has an the answer to the above problem or an easier method please let me know.
