I’m wondering if there’s such a thing as a hack proof computer. I imagine not. I’m runnning Windows 98SE and it is 100% updated both through Windows Update and through CNet. I also update individual pieces of software through their help/check forupdate menus. I run Norton Anti-Virus 2001 Professional Edition and Zone Alarm Pro. I am a cable modem user which I know is not as secure as DSL or dial up. If this seems inadequate, what can I do to increase my security? Would loading a second software firewall be effective? I know hardware is generally considerded a better defense but this is for a home pc. On that same note, I am overseeing the installation of a hardware firewall at my office. Would it be a good idea to also load a software firewall on the server and individual workstations?
