Hard Drive Ticking

I have a western digital 4gig hard drive that is ticking. When I boot to it the bios doesn’t see it also I have try to hook it up as a slave to another working drive and the same thing is there any thing I can do to just get it up for a sec to save my data ? I heard the freezer does that work?
