Harddisk upgrade

I am upgrading an XP machine from a 20GB to a 40GB
using Seagate disk manager (Loaded as slave, format & copy as boot). Get “non boot disk” on startup. Similarly if use Norton ghost get an “NTFS error” even though no previous operating system was loaded. While upgrading a 2000 machine using disk manager get disk hardware confguration problem …check boot….
