by it . Updated 19 years ago

I want to be able to run a single server similiar to a SBS 2003 Box to handle my domain However I do not know if my server specs are sufficient…

I want this server to use Server 2003 Enterprise…

Its primary functions will be:

Domain Controller
DNS
Serv-U FTP Server
Filemaker Server 8
Fileserver

My current server specs are:

– Supermicro X7DBE Motherboard
– Supermicro 743T-650 Chasis
(100% Cooling Redundancy)
– 2x Dual Core Xeon 5130 1.8ghz 1066Mhz FSB
– 4 Gb DDR2 RAM ECC Registered 566 Mhz
– 2x 150Gb 10k RPM SATA HD (RAID ONE ARRAY)
– 2x 320Gb 7200 RPM SATA HD (RAID ONE ARRAY)
– 2x 320Gb 7200 RPM SATA HD (RAID ONE ARRAY)
– 2x Intel Gigabyte NICs

My Network Config:

– Linksys
– x10 Windows Vista Clients
– x2 XP Professional SP2 Clients
– Filemaker Database Server will only be used
lightly…
– There will be heavy filesharing…
– Filesharing

Can my server hardware handle the workload efficiently?
