OK pro’s here goes the big question of the day:
How would you go about transferring your perfectly running Windows 2003 Enterprise Server on a homebrew PIII700 system to a Dell SC420 Server?
I am running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise w/5cal on the P3-700 system with AD and file server enabled. I have 500GB of data to preserve and would like to transfer my current config to the SC420. Also, I want to transfer my hardware to the SC420 (2 SATA raid cards w/4-hdd). The SC420 is a single P4-2.8GHz 800fsb, has 2GB RAM, one single SATA 40GB disc running Windows 2003 Enterprise Server w/no current active server configuation; Gigabit LAN card. Blank slate ready to go. Comments? Questions? What would you do in this situation? I will try me best to answer your replies as you ask/give. Thanks for you professional opinions/expertise.
