Headless machine with dual monitor enabled

by pojodojo . Updated 18 years ago

I have a headless machine used solely for gotomypc access. The remote user wants me to put two monitors on it so they can view it on their two monitor setup at the remote location.

I do not want to waste two monitors or more importantly the space that takes up.

Is there any way to emulate the presence of two monitors, and keep it headless?

My best idea was to use the paperclip trick on the two female VGA ports in the back connecting pins 6 and 11 to cause a short which makes it think there is a second monitor.

I am looking for a less invasive and dangerous method though.

Thanks for any ideas,
-Dan
