Help Desk software

by serverjockey . Updated 17 years, 10 months ago

I am the network administrator (catch all) for
a steel foundry. We have around 150 network
users, 10 servers, VPN, Webmail, Baraccuda,
Belmanage and AS400. My IT Manager is heading
up a project to convert from the AS400 to a
Windows Server based business system. For the
last 10 months it’s been just me taking care of
everything and needless to say, I was working a
million hours and still buried and running way
behind so I begged and begged and he finally
let me hire a Deskside support guy so I can
focus on the network.

We are looking for a system to enter tickets,
schedule estimated repair dates, track problems
and resolutions. Something that can run on the
network and users can use a web browser to
enter tickets and/or check the status of their
tickets. Also something that IT can use to
assign tickets to each other. I’d rather pay
money for something tried and true than waste
time trying to get something free working!
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions
you can give!
