I am working on an old dell desktop that has no PS2 ports so my only option is a USB keyboard and mouse but this time it continuously tries to prompt me for whether or not i want to install the device and i cant confirm because the very devices that im trying to install are needed to confirm this prompt.
I have tried different ports and different devices (even though the current ones definitely work) and when i get into the set up to get into the onboard device menu it prompts me for an administrator password (which i cant get rid of, even after flashing the CMOS for a half hour). oh, and this is a fresh install of win XP pro.
any tip and tricks you fine gentle men have and are willing to share shall be tested promptly.
I dont see much in the form of model numbers on this laptop and i cant check using the tools i have for specified reasons, but i did get a reference to a model number (its an old worn desktop that this client wants fixed and isnt willing to upgrade)
