I am currently a Computer Science major about 2.5 years out from graduation, working in a help desk envoronment full time. I am fixed on completing my degree, but think I am going to take a slight detour from my CS classes to take classes to prep me for a certification.
**side note**
After trying for a month, my future wife and I are going to have a child (HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH RIGHT HERE!!!). This really opened my eyes and got me thinking.
I have no certifications and find that employers either need a bachelor’s degree or certifications to take the next step (system administrator, junior admin etc…). I am currently toying with the idea of CCNA ir MSCA (with my elective being a+ and Network plus+). But my little one will be here August 30th and I need to make a decision rather quickly.
I am 28 and am very sharp minded. What advice would you offer regarding certifications in my situation?
