HELP !!! Urgent !!!—- TCP/IP router
I need help quick.
Assume the following
Firewall internal IP = 192.168.5.50
Firewall external IP = 241.242.255.243
If I needed to yank the firewall because it died and I won’t get it fixed for 24 hours and needed internet access in the mean time…
Could I set up a W2k box with two NICs (one at 192.168.5.50 and one at 240.242.255.243) to handle this routing? What else would be involved?
Just to negate a couple of ideas. THe intitial T1 router belongs to the phone company…I can NOT TOUCH IT. It of course is on the 241.242.x.x net lets say it’s 240.242.255.242 for grins).
Yes I know how dangerous things would be without the firewall and no I wasn’t quite dumb enough to post actual IPs 🙂
Is there another quick workaround I’m missing?
