Help with Keyboard and Screen of laptop not working

I have a laptop which keyboard isn’t working so i connected an external keyboard. Now the screen of the laptop also died and I would like to use an external monitor but since I am not using the laptop keyboard, I don’t have the FN key function to allow me to toggle between the external monitor and the laptop monitor. Well, is there something I can do to use the external monitor since the laptop screen doesn’t work?
