Help with windows XP

I bought a computer off of a friend who had misplaced her windows xp home edition recovery disk, and she put a illegal copy of windows xp pro on it. I am wanting to delete the illegal version and recover the home edition version with the disk that she found when I bought the computer. How would I do this?
