Home Network 98/2000

by smm . Updated 25 years, 7 months ago

For a long time I have had a home network using two W98 machines, TCP/IP, fixed address, workgroup and experianced no problems.

Recently I upgraded one machine to W2000. Now the Windows 2000 machine can see and fully access (print, share files, internet connection etc.) the Windows 98 machine. The Windows 98 machine can see the Windows 2000 machine (Network Neighborhood, ping etc). but I cannot access any shared resources on the Windows 2000 machine.

I have tried everything I can think off. Both machined have TCP, Client for Microsoft Networks, file/printer sharing installed. I don’t want to use a different protocol as I need TCP/IP for the internet sharing anyhow.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
