Well I got bored and decided to change the structure of my home network. I have a DSL connection to the internet. I would like to setup an IIS server and learn the ins and outs of serving, maybe even play with media server. I will install the internal DSL modem in a IIS member server (NT 4.0) on my domain, then add two NIC’s, one for my roomates workgroup and one for my domain. The cable will then run to a 4 port switch which is connected to the PDC (NT 4.0), Workstation (NT 4.0) and a jetdirect card, with the possibility of adding another member server to act as an MP3/Movie server connected to the entertainment system. I presently have a Linksys DSL router, but am not happy with the performance (constantly disconnects from the PPOe server, has to be reset and other annoyances). Will I have any trouble sharing the internet connection with my roomate if he has an IP on the same network? What sort of firewall should I use on the IIS server? What potential problems will I have? Thanks
