Hooking up Ethernet printer to network

Hello new on here great website, anyway I’m trying to hook a ethernet printer to a network, I did print the configuration page and it shows the ip, but I can’t ping the ip address given, I have it plugged into a ethernet that works. Any suggestions why I can’t ping also I wanted to delete the port currently and it won’t let me, I tried server properties but says the resource is in use.
