How can I prevent Canon MP Navigator software grabbing focus while scanning

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with the following:

I have a Canon MP780 multi-function, the software I use for scanning is Canons MP Navigator 1.02; this software serves my purpose the only problem is that when scanning, the software grabs Windows attention. Every time I click to go into another program I cannot do any work because the scanner grabs the focus. This is especially annoying if I am scanning multiple documents through the sheet feeder!! It means that every time I want to scan my computer is tied up with the task.

Does anyone know how I can prevent this? I have tried TweakUI, but, it does not have any effect.
