How can I stop a Server update that is already in progress?

I attempted to reboot our Windows 2003 SBS server this morning, and in my haste I allowed the default option to install updates and restart. The server has been on update #2 of 15 for over an hour now, and I need to get this server back up and running before the day shift arrives.

Is there anyway to gracefully exit the update process? I’ve tried Ctrl-Alt-Del, and there is no response.

If I do a hard reset, what are the chances that I’ll be able to successfully reboot given the fact that it appears to be in the middle of an update?

Does anyone have any suggestions?
