How can i transfer schema role from winser 2008 to winserver 2003

I have two server 2008 and 2003.
the 2008 is the dns,dhcp,and domain controller with all the fsmo roles
i have been able to transfer all other roles to the 2003 except the schema role.
it give error ”can not contact the dc”[
