how do I check for errors on Cisco switch

I have a cisco layer 3 switch and for some reason the uplink which is a fiber keeps going down.When it happens, I have to connect it to other port before it will come up. Even though the fiber converter has been replaced with a new one. Pls could someone help. Looking forward to hearing from you all.
