How do I detect a network process that runs every hour

I am looking for a free program that will allow me to pin point what process that runs every hour from one server to another. We have a network sniffer which has told us what servers but we need to know exactly what is running. We are using a wan microwave link between our (2) locations and the process is slowing connectivity and processes across the link.
Can anyone suggest a free or semi-cheap solution to identify the program which is in question?
