How do I disable exchange during outlook configuration?

When I start Outlook 2007 for the first time it attmepts to connect to Microsoft Exchange, which I am told is offline giving me no opportunity to configure outlook. I know there is a registry adjustment I can make (I found the information once before) so Outlook will not look for the Exchange server and allow me to configure my email, however I cannot find this information again. Any help resolving my problem is appreciated.
