How do I gain experience for a programmer/analyst job?

I am interested in becoming a .NET programmer or Systems Analyst. I have completed core classes for my Bachelor’s in IT and just need a few general credits to complete it. I have been interested in programming professionally, but all of the positions state a minimum 3yrs+ programming experience, when I have a combined total of about 8mos.
I would like a position that will give me the opportunity to code on a consistent basis, so as to improve my skills and gain the experience I am looking for.

What can I do or which entry-level positions should I look for that will get me the experience I need to obtain my goal?
