How Do I get Windows Server 2008 to resolve Forward Lookup Zones?

by pleasetryrestarting . Updated 14 years, 6 months ago

We have a web domain (domain.com) which is hosted. At our offices we have several application servers that are used internally. I’d like to make those available via the internet to employees, customers, and vendors via addresses such as (application.domain.com). I have created A records with our registrar to point to our external IP for each of the applications and Forward Lookup Zones on our internal DNS server. I then forwarded port 80 on our router to the DNS server. The DNS server is also one of the application servers and consequently has IIS running. When I attempt to visit the applications servers remotely I am always directed to the DNS server (i.e. it does not forward traffic for the other servers to their respective server). How do I fix this?
