How do I reset a motherboard to factory setting?

A man says he was trying to flash the bios on a DP35DP intel motherboard, and the computer went thru a series of checks, but when he went to re-boot the computer, all he got was a blinking line in the upper left hand corner of the monitor. Is there a way to reset this motherboard?
Please help!
