How do you identify memory size?

Hi,
Could someone give me a short tutorial in how to figure out the memory capacity in MEGS of a given simm or dimm, etc. Sometimes you see 2×32 EDO, 4×32 EDO, 8×32 EDO, etc. What does that mean?
