How does the SMS Client affect servers?

My main concern is the Negative effects the SMS Client has on server performance. I am not speaking of SMS site servers. I’m just concerned for all my other servers running the client Everything seems to be running fine. We have an excellent record of system uptime. I’d hate to have SMS cause memory leaks or whatnot on our servers. Just a little scared….
