How much resources do mapped drives use?

I have a user who insists on running a logon script that maps 10 drives upon logon. This user also says her PC runs “slowly”. Won’t the mapping of unecessary drives slow down her PC by using system resources?

The drives are all on the LAN, soshe isn’t mapping anything acrosss a WAN.

Can having too many drives mapped signifcantly slow down a PC?
