How much should this job pay?

Alright, i don’t know if it is appropriate to ask this particular question here, but i don’t know anyone else in the IT field that great to discuss this type of thing.

I work at a multi-franchise auto dealership in northern california, my duties include the administration of the on-site NEC telephone system, 75 nextel cellular telephones, administration of a pelco camera system, we have around 150 client PC’s running Windows XP, several Windows 2000 and 2003 servers, routers, switches, the standard set up, and i also maintain two company websites.

I was not “hired” into this job as much as i was already working here and i asked for it after they fired the previous administrator for harrassment. I have gone to several different specialized classes for both the camera and phone system.

I have now roughly two years of experience in the position and feel that I perform the job fairly efficient. I am currently working 8 to 5, and i occasionally get called in after hours and on the weekends, my wage is $10.00 an hour. I know for a fact i do quite a bit more true work than some of the sales, marketing, and other questionable positions at the company.

My question to you, in this type of job, with this pay, is it right to ask for a raise, if so how should i go about it and what would be a reasonable wage to ask for?
