How the heck do I re-assign an LPT port?

The company i work for uses vinyl cutter/plotters, unfortunately, the software only allows the cutter to use LPT1 unfortunately, this PC has had its parallel ports installed, and have been numbered 2 and 3, with no other parallel ports installed.
