how to assign an IP address to a printer in MAC OS X

OK, the title says it all; I need to assign an IP address to
my new Konica
2430 DL printer in order to get it working. How do I do
this? I already figured out what the IP address of the
printer probably is by printing the ‘config page’ of the
printer and using this address in the configuration, but it
did not work so far.
Your help
would be much appreciated from this nontechnical MAC
user.
