How to back up ios with tftpd32

I’m trying to backup my ios from my 2500 serie. I downloaded the tftpd32 on my laptop. I set up the address for the router.
But when I try to ping either the router or the server from one another, it fails. I tried to set up a static route on the router, still it doesn’t work. Can anybody help me out here.
