How to best get Win3.1 running on a PC with WinXP

Here’s the deal. My dad has an old IBM Aptiva running Win3.1 that he refuses to let go of. (Probably cause it costed him over $4000 at the time he bought it)He also has a Dell that’s a few years old running WinXP. I thought I would try to get his old HD contents running somehow on his newer computer using an emulator or whatever it takes.

Basically I just need to know how you would go about doing something like this.

1.)He needs to be able to use the printer connected to the Dell to print from Win3.1.
2.)Access to other peripherals and shared folders would be very helpful too.
