How to block sites with asa firewall.

Im interning right now and my supervisor ask to to block social networking sites using our asa. I went to cisco for answers but there saying we need to subscribe to a web filtering site. Can I filter web sites without having to subscribe to these sites and if so how do I go about doing so?
