How to code a function available in Microsoft Money

A query on a Jason Perlow question posted in 2009
Jason mentioned Microsoft Money and the possibility of it being released into the Open Source domain. This looks unlikely but I wonder if anybody can tell me how to code the Split Transaction facility in that package.
I have tried to find an answer for the last 10 years but failed. I am currently using Visual Basic 2013 and SQL Server 2012 on a Windows 7 machine.
