How to connect Win98 to Win2000?

When I connect my Win98 PC with Cable Connection Paralel LPT1 port to my Win2000 Laptop, I always am asked for the Host name which I found in control panel – network ID but the password required is not the one which I’m using to connect to my Win2000 notebook? How can I easily make a two way connection between those PC’s?
