How to connect wireless clients to AP using PEAP MSCHAP-V2?

by liorski . Updated 14 years, 6 months ago

I have a question about connecting wireless clients to AP using PEAP MSCHAP-V2
I am working with windows 2003 server (SP2) and I followed this manual fomr Cisco: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6366/products_configuration_example09186a0080921f67.shtml#insrescert
Steps including in this manual include configuration of windows 2003 server which includes configuration for:
– Domain controller
– DHCP and DNS servers
– CA
– IAS
– Active directory
During the installation, I generated a self-signed certificate (called Wireless-CA) and I requested for certificate which is server certificate and should be used for PEAP wireless clients.
After all the process I connected PC using LAN, add him to the new domain, install the server certificate and connect again, this time using wireless connection with PEAP.
During wireless connection, I was requested to enter credential (user name, password and domain). Everything worked and the connection was successful.

Now, my question is:
If I want to connect a PC that is not part of my domain, but I still want to let him connect using PEAP (and supply him a user and password), how can I do it?
When I copy the certificate to another wireless client and double click on it, I saw the following message: “Windows does not have enough information to verify this certificate”
After installing the certificate, connection to the AP failed.

Any help would be appreciated
