How to diagnose a switched network without managed switches.

I have a situation here where I have a network that is built on unmanaged switches. I am experiencing slowness from the network, but I am not sure where the issue is. I would like to look at using a packet sniffer, but becasue I am on a switched network, this will not work.. I don’t have access to a Port Aggregator, I wish that I did. We checked the firewall (Linux), seems to be no issues from TCP.

Any suggestions would be helpfull.
