How to install HP Agents on ESX servers.

I’m a complete newbie when it comes to any type of unix/linux/ESX OS. In the past I’ve been strictly a Windows person. But now I finally have gotten in the world of supporting about 10 ESX servers in my HP SIM system. The problem is I have no idea where to even start on how to get the files onto the ESX server and get them installed. The best I can do right now is log onto the ESX server with an app called Putty. But other then that I have no ideas. Any help would be great. Or just point me to some ESX for dummies documentation or something. Thanks
