How to list USB Drive as “Devices with Removable Media”

I have a USB Hard Drive that always shows up under the “Hard Drive” section of My Computer. Is there a way I can configure it to show up under “Devices with Removable Media” so that 3rd party software programs treat it like it really is removable? Currently everything things it is a static drive, which limits me from using a couple of programs to make proxy images of the original images stored on the device.
