How to make a webservice running in DMZ access my SQL-server

by sten.karlson . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

Hi folks,

Ithink this question must be answered a thousend times, but I can’t find the answer.

I have a webservice running on computer that is supposed to be reachable from the outside (WAN). I have a SQL-server in my local net with a private ip-adress (subnet 192.168.10.xx)
Today I’m using a Netgear FVL328 as firewall.

My question is: Is it possible to configure my FVL328 in a way that the webserver is running in a DMZ and can access my internal SQL-server?

If it’s possible, my next question is how. If not what kind of firewall do I have to use to make it work?

My guess is that the webserver should be in a subnet of its own. For example 192.168.15.xx.
But I can’t make it work.

Thanks in advance for your answers.
