How To Set Up and Promote Your Own Social Media

I’ve spent countless hours setting up social media sites using Buddy Press just to have my host suspend my account for high cpu usage many times. This has caused me to switch hosts if they can’t handle my stuff because the free basing free hosting members are taking up space they don’t pay for (very unfair if you ask me). My difficulty is promoting them with no budget. I’ve tried everything, if one more person suggests using other social networks to do so, I will scream. Hello Capt Obvious!! Any more creative ideas to really get people to sign up and start using mine? Thanks!
