How to setup Domain Controller with DNS on a router

I have a router where I have DD-WRT installed DNSMasq is managing DHCP and DNS. I now have a Windows Server 2012 that I want to setup for learning. I want to set it up as a Domain Controller. I’ve setup DCs before, so I know the process, but I do know that DCs require DNS to be installed. How can I accommodate the DHCP/DNS on the DD-WRT?

Should I move DHCP and DNS to the DC?
Can I just redirect the DC to use DNSMasq?
