How to show effort, duration on business process diagrams?

I am doing some BA work for my client and have to create diagrams for all of their business processes. We are currently using Visio. However, we want to be able to show, on the diagram, effort expended for individual processes and/or durations. Is there a simple way to do this in Visio or is there a standard notation out there that someone else may have used?
