How-To? Stream Internet Radio to Intranet?

by brian.porter . Updated 14 years, 6 months ago

Hi all,

I’m hoping this is going to be an easy question, but I’m struggling to find anything on google that’s relevent to help me.

Quite simply, I’m looking to cache / proxy / repeat a public internet radio onto our intranet to reduce bandwidth.

Everything I’ve found so relates purely to setting up your own broadcasting station and working with a file, or live sessions etc.

I’ve briefly looked at Windows Media Services, but don’t want to install this unless it provides a proxy / relay function.

We have only just implemented a SQUID proxy cache (Win32) which again, i’m unable to locate any information on whether or not this does, or is capable of proxying streaming audio.

Microsoft’s ISA is a possible option, if it can get the job done.

Can anyone please shed some light on what should be a simple concept please?

Regards,
Brian
