How to use multilingual in SQL 7.0?

For the project we have right now, we need to input Japanese into SQL. I installed Globle IME on the server already. It works fine in Word, Powerpoint, etc., but it just doesn’t want to work under SQL. Also how do I maintain an SQL table with both Japanese and English characters?
It should be easy to switch to a different language if required.
