We are a small business with just 14 personnel. Currently we have 3 personnel who work from their homes and have direct VPN connections to the office network including VoIP phones.
Due to the economy we are looking at reducing the size of our rented office space, and having all of our technical personnel work from home.
Steps we are looking at:
1. Move our servers to an off-site-location for support and maintenance.
2. Setup 8 additional direct VPN connections for personnel to work from home, this will include VoIP phones from the main Network VoIP system.
a. Technical support person will need to meet daily and utilize a whiteboard for project listing that are being worked on that week. Other interoffice communication will be thru IM/Email
3. Server maintenance/updates/backup will be handled by remote connection with Backup being completed via VPN to remote backup (Network Storage Drive).
Has anyone looked at this type of setup or have any suggestions.
Thank you in advance
